  • Who is CBS Food Program?
    We are a non-profit entity providing children with nutritious meals. The meals include breakfast, lunch, and snacks, or supper, and snacks, as well as milk and/or juice.
  • Why Have This Program?
    Children need proper nutrients to stay healthy and strong. This program establishes a foundation for healthy eating habits and avoids children's dependency on unhealthy fast food, chips, and sugary soda drinks.

  • What Is So Special About CBS?
    CBS is a faith-based entity that only provides high standard kosher food in the State of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Keeping kosher is a commitment. It governs what we eat and the way we prepare and utilize the kitchen and dishes. Anyone can eat kosher food. Kosher means that the meat and chicken are slaughtered according to the laws of the Bible. The Kosher standards prohibit the usage of horsemeat, pig, or seafood. We also provide paper goods and disposable utensils.
  • How Do I Join?
    Fill out our Online Application or call us at 215-938-0201 and speak with a Site Specialist today.
  • Is There Any Paperwork Needed To Join?
    Day Care Centers Certificate of Compliance (DPW) and a Master List of Children. Parents need to fill out the Enrollment/Income Eligibility form for their children. Parents also need to provide us with a signed Letter of approval or denial. At-Risk After-School Care Programs Health Certificate and/or Fire Inspection document. If your location is in an area eligible location your children may be able to receive free meals Summer Food Program Health Certificate and/or Fire Inspection document. If your location is in an area eligible location your children may be able to receive free meals School Lunch Programs Income forms for all children attending unless you are currently enrolled in CEP
  • What Happens After I Submit My Paperwork?
    Site Visit– A CBS monitor will schedule an on-site or virtual visit to inspect the facility for proper equipment, number of children, etc. Training – all sites are required to attend a Mandatory State Training at our offices (or virtual) before we can begin (even if you already have a previous site with us). We will contact you to schedule a convenient time. Parents – the parent(s) of each child must Except/Decline our meal plan using our online system (we will provide further instructions) Approval – Once your approval is finalized, we will contact you to schedule your initial delivery and work out the remaining details.
  • How Often Do Deliveries Come?
    CBS makes daily deliveries.
  • What Kitchen Equipment Is needed?
    Please follow the rules and regulations of the health department. These may vary from county to county. A working refrigerator with a freezer is required. Cabinets for storage are needed for the cans and bottles. NO SUPPLIES MAY BE PLACED ON THE BARE FLOOR. Daycares that will be serving the hot menu have the option of an oven or a microwave. ALL THE FOOD FROM CBS IS MICROWAVABLE.
  • What Other Equipment Is Needed?
    A working phone. A computer or mobile device. A scanner or mobile scan application that can send us documents in pdf format. (Please no pictures of documents). Or fax machine.
  • How Do I know We are Doing Everything Right?
    CBS sends out monitors several times a year to make sure there are no problems and to make sure the food program complies. These monitorings may be either on-site or virtual. During the visits, the monitor will answer any questions you may have.
  • Are All Children Eligible For This Program?
    Some programs require income eligibility forms which determine the status of meals as free, reduced or paid. Please refer to our Programs page for further requirements.
