CACFP
This Food program provides qualifying centers and individuals with 3 meals per day.
NSLP
This program provides schools with children ages 4-18 with 2 meals daily.
ARACP
Sites with an extracurricular or after school or weekend program can apply for snack and dinner at no charge.
SFSP
This summer program is open to children between the ages 1-18.
CACFP – Child & Adult Care Food Program
CBS Food Program exists to provide excellent, nutritious and dependable food to the children of Greater Philadelphia, so each child has one less barrier to a future full of possibility. CBS Food Program services day cares, schools, after school programs, summer camps and other non-profit organizations throughout the region, delivering fresh and delicious meals and snacks at low, or no cost.
CACFP REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Day Care License
- Alphabetized, Typed Master List of all the kids planning to attend in September of the school year.
- Completed Copies of Income and Enrollment forms (Please use only the new forms that have the name of your center printed)
- A completed Food Service Application
- Attend a Mandatory Training conducted by CBS. This session lasts approximately 2 hours with instructions on filling our Rosters and Meal Counts, serving amounts of food, and food handling according to state regulations.
- If your Day Care Center will have an After School Program with at least 10 children, please fill out an attached After School Food Service Application and After School Enrollment list.
Approval - Once all the paperwork has been submitted to CBS, it will be considered for final approval. This process in its entirety may take several weeks.
Children and adults are eligible to participate if they are:
- Birth to 12 years of age; or
- Migrant children birth to 15 years of age; or
- Ages 4-18 years of age for the At-Risk After-School Program
- Birth to 18 years of age in Emergency Shelters; or
- Special needs children over 12 years of age in care facilities primarily serving children under 18 years of age; or
- Functionally impaired adults; or
- Adults over 60 years of age
All for-profit and non–profit centers are eligible to apply for this program providing that they meet the proper requirements. Each meal follows the proper nutrition guidelines according to the USDA.
NSLP – National School Lunch Program
National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a Government funded program that provides schools with children ages 4-18 with 2 meals daily. Children are determined eligible for free, reduced, or paid meals according to income eligibility forms. You may choose from breakfast, lunch, and snack. In order to qualify, you must have a 501C license. Certain schools may qualify for after school snack for the entire school.
NSLP REQUIREMENTS:
- 501C or documentation of your non-profit status.
- Alphabetized Typed Master List of all the children at your school
- Completed copies of Income forms.
- Completed Food Service Application
- Attend a Mandatory Training conducted by CBS. This session in approximately 2 hours with instructions on filling out Rosters and Meal Counts, serving amounts of food, and food handling according to state regulations.
Approval - This occurs once all the paperwork has been submitted. This process can take from one week to several weeks.
ARACP – At-Risk After-School Care Program
Sites with an extracurricular or after school or weekend program can apply for snack and dinner free for the entire site depending upon the site location.
ARACP REQUIREMENTS:
- 501C or documentation of your non-profit status.
- Completed After School Food Service Application and After School Enrollment list.
- Attend a Mandatory Training conducted by CBS. This session in approximately 2 hours with instructions on filling out Rosters and Meal Counts, serving amounts of food, and food handling according to state regulations.

SFSP – Summer Food Service Program
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is open to children between the ages 1-18. The program runs throughout the summer months of June, July, August, and sometimes even in September.
Children who are eligible for this program may be entitled to receive at least 2 meals consisting of Breakfast & Lunch, or Lunch & Snack. To learn more about this program, please call our offices today at 215-938-0201.
