Jonathan Shahar joined CBS Food Program as its Chief Executive Officer in June 2024. Prior to taking the helm, Jonathan served on CBS Food Program’s Board of Directors helping to lead the organization through a series of reorganizations and restructurings. Since joining as CEO, Jonathan has re-committed CBS Food Program to its core values focusing on delivering high-quality, delicious and nutritious meals for the children of Greater Philadelphia, engaging more directly with our sites and centers, and ensuring that we do so with unwavering consistency.
Before his time at CBS Food Program, Jonathan was an associate at Raju LLP, a firm that focuses primarily on corporate and commercial real estate transactions. He received his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.S. from Penn State University.
Kim Hopkins joined CBS Food Program in July 2024. Kim brings over 25 years of experience in customer service, program compliance, and staff training to our team. As a seasoned CACFP professional, she has conducted thousands of Child and Adult Care Food Program reviews across multiple states, ensuring quality nutrition and operational excellence in child and adult care settings.
Her background includes a variety of leadership roles among them a director role at the Central Bucks YMCA, where she developed strong skills in communication, problem solving, and team development. Kim’s dedication to serving her community, passion for the well-being of children and early childhood educators, and her deep understanding of program standards and requirements make her a valuable contributor to our mission of supporting healthy, thriving families.
Rebecca Dear joined CBS Food Program in 2007. She started her time working in CBS kitchen preparing the meals for Centers and soon became a Center Support Specialist. Over her tenure, Rebecca developed a report with all the Center partners and ultimately she became the Director of Outreach. Prior to joining CBS Food Program, Rebecca spent 13 years as a job placement manager in New York City, where she developed her strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
Her passion for feeding children stems from her time as a young child growing up in Philadelphia where often the only meal she and her brother received was thanks to programs like CBS Food Program. She is deeply committed to giving back ensuring that every child is fed and supporting each Center who may benefit from CBS Food Program. She is always excited to meet new people, discover ways to help provide food, and looks forward to connecting with your Center soon!
Sze Nga Cheng joined CBS Food Program in March 2022 as an Accounting Assistant and become the Director of Finance in 2024. Prior to joining CBS Food Program, Sze Nga was an auditor with one of the nation’s largest public accounting firms. She specialized in providing detailed testing to clients for audits, reviews, and other assurance services and performed year-end field work for a portfolio of diverse companies.
At CBS, Sze Nga oversees all aspects of the organization’s finances including its annual budget, compliance with an array of regulatory standards, development and implementation of internal controls and providing all required financial data to donors, funders, and regulators. Sze Nga is focused on financial sustainability at CBS Food Program as she believes providing healthy and nutritious meals for children is of critical importance today and for the future.
Robert Bond serves as President of the Board for the CBS Food Program, bringing over a decade of legal expertise and a unique combination of medical and legal experience. As founder of Philadelphia Law Center, Mr. Bond provides personalized legal representation to individuals and families throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey.
Mr. Bond’s distinctive background includes training as a physician assistant from Philadelphia University prior to his legal career, giving him valuable insight into healthcare and human services. His commitment to community service extends beyond his legal practice, having served as a commissioned officer with the United States Military and provided assistance to veterans at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Philadelphia.
A Super Lawyers-rated attorney, Mr. Bond specializes in personal injury, immigration, and social security disability law. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on medical and legal topics, regularly contributes opinion pieces to the Philadelphia Inquirer, and continues to contribute to professional development through conference presentations and research.
His dual expertise in medicine and law, combined with his military service and dedication to helping vulnerable populations, makes him uniquely qualified to lead the CBS Food Program’s mission of addressing food insecurity in our community.
Alex Gak is an associate at Reiferson Dee PLC. His practice focuses on the representation of government sponsored entities, institutional lenders, and commercial loan servicers in commercial real estate finance and servicing matters. Alex has extensive experience representing national loan servicers in structured finance transactions including defeasances and securitizations. He also regularly represents clients in assignments, assumptions, condemnations, property dispositions, equity transfers, easements, and other real property and corporate transactions.
Prior to joining, Alex was an associate at Raju LLP where he focused his practice on real estate, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and capital market transactions.

Chana Goldenberg serves as a Board Member for the CBS Food Program, bringing extensive experience in nutrition program management and healthcare administration. She has dedicated her career to strengthening organizations that serve vulnerable populations, with a focus on compliance, quality improvement, and building supportive systems that empower both staff and the communities they serve.
Chana began her professional journey with CBS in 2005 as a secretary. Through dedication and steady growth, she advanced to Program Director by 2023. Over those 18 years, she gained experience at every level of program operations — helping to improve administrative systems, ensure USDA regulatory compliance, and support the expansion of nutritional services that reached families throughout Philadelphia.
Currently Chana serves as Director of Operations at Harmony Health Home Care. In this role, she oversees clinical and administrative operations, leads compliance initiatives, and supports staff development to ensure compassionate, high-quality care.
Her career growth highlights her values of teamwork and service. As a CBS Board Member, she works alongside fellow leaders to ensure the organization remains strong, responsive, and impactful.
Derek Nitzky started at CBS Food Program as a warehouse assistant and quickly raised to a leadership role overseeing the entire purchasing and distribution apparatus at CBS Food Program. His commitment to the core mission of CBS Food Program combined with his knack for overseeing and successfully executing an array of rapidly changing projects have made him instrumental to ensuring the highest quality food products are sourced and delivered to all the children served by CBS Food Program.
Prior to joining CBS Food Program, Derek Nitzky was a project manager at JR Quigley where he developed a talent for leading multi-dimensional, cross departmental teams. In his free time, Derek is an avid golfer and dog lover.
